Introduction:
The purpose of the PowerLabs Message Board is to provide the means
through which scientists and engineers of all levels, from amateur to
professional can discuss any scientific topic with the purpose of furthering
their knowledge on the different realms of science. It is meant to be an extension
of PowerLabs, where ideas about projects and topics found in PowerLabs can be
furthered, and where new projects can be discussed and evaluated. As a member of
the PowerLabs message board you become a member of the PowerLabs
community; you will have the support and input of hundreds of like-minded
individuals working on projects of their own and willing to help you take
your project to the next level, you will be the first one to know of new
updates to the site, you will have a say on what may go into the site
next, and much more! |

1- SEARCH: You can
find virtually everything on the Internet today. A quick Google search
will answer most basic questions with far more clarity than anyone else
could typing out a quick reply to your post. Please search the subject
before you post a question on it; exceedingly basic questions waste your
time and mine, and will most likely be deleted. 2- COMMUNICATE: Realize that no one on the board knows you on a personal basis. This means that everyone's image of you will be formed based solely on what you write and how you write it. Poor grammar and spelling are the trademarks of uneducated people, or people who just aren't intelligent enough to know how to form a coherent sentence in English. Obviously if English if not your mother tongue no one will expect you to be fluent it, but please take the time to proof read your post before posting it, and utilize a spell check if you don't know how to spell. If you can't communicate your ideas accurately they won't be of much use to anyone reading them. Profanity is not forbidden on the board (we have never had a problem with it so I don't see the point in making a rule for it), but users are advised against it. Also, try to use a nickname that is appropriate to the board: remember that, once again, it is all people have to go by when they make an image of you. 3- Inappropriate topics: Free Energy, Antigravity, UFOs, and other such Pseudo-Sciences are completely unacceptable on this board. We discuss real, practical science here and if you can't back up your ideas with hard science than please don't bother posting them. Non-scientific topics are also inappropriate on all boards aside from the "Anything Else" board. Users are also reminded to post under the appropriate boards (I.E. Post Tesla Coil related messages to the High Voltage board only, and so on). If you follow these rules, your posts will be read and replied to by the other members of the board. If you don't, I will privately tell you what you did wrong. Should infractions continue you will be removed from the board as a member and your IP number will be permanently blocked from the site, so you will never again be able to join. Also, any kind of spamming, flaming, insults, etc will get you deleted and banned at once. If you have any questions, or any problems accessing the board, do not hesitate to e-mail me.
